    The mint wallet does not exist until 4 Sep 2021. Metaplex and the Solana 1/1 stack (Holaplex, DigitalEyes, Solanart) were not live in 2020. There is nothing to track on this address before that funder tx.

  • LinkedIn: woodworker / data practice from June 2020

    DAT Abstract lists a self-employed woodworking role starting Jun 2020: “Explores the complex beauty in data manipulation and complex mathematic systems: by letting go of simplicity, we let the numbers reveal themselves.” Skills listed alongside NFT artist include woodworking. This is the method statement before it had a chain — physical/data work, not a 2020 NFT drop.

  • sIgnALs source data is 2021, not 2020

    cryptoCANDLE attributes point at 2021 trading windows (e.g. BTC 4 Apr–26 Jun 2021, LINK 22 Feb–8 May 2021). The art looks back at 2021 candles; it was not minted from 2020 markets.

  • Compressed NFT claiming, not a new 1/1 series

    32 of 55 signatures are Metaplex Bubblegum MintToCollectionV1 / MintV1 (Jan–Mar, Jun–Aug). June txs carry UUID memos (bdaa13a0-…, eba1b929-…) — the DRiP-style claim pattern. The mint wallet is acting as a collector of compressed drops, not minting GEN 1 cryptoCANDLEs. One related token in-wallet is already labeled DRiP Season 1.

  • MFI.EXPERT whitelist cNFT

    A 2 Jan 2024 Bubblegum tree tx touches mint F9xmyn… labeled “MFI.EXPERT WHITELIST” on Magic Eden. Outlier: DeFi/allowlist collectible, not the data-art catalog.

  • Still on Exchange Art

    25 Jun 2024 the wallet hits ARTd5DH… Remove/whitelist instructions (Exchange Art artist whitelist program). That is the only 2024 marketplace-program touch besides later shutdown cleanup.

  • 4 Apr 2024 — hosted Space “WHY not”

    1h 22m Space hosted by @dat_a_bstract (~2k followers, Richardson turbulence bio). Speakers include @PinkVelvetPony (VoJo) — a Saturday Solana / Exchange Art 1/1 peer from the 2021–23 rolls — and @interfaceChiral (editor @orangecube_art). Continuity of the underground social graph a year after Formfunction died.

  • 7 Aug 2024 — 20 SOL transfers in eight minutes

    Largest 2024 burst is not minting. 20 system transfers plus two Jupiter-style swaps. Looks like dust consolidation / emptying, not a drop.

    9 Jun: more Bubblegum MintToCollectionV1. 26 Jun: memo “Blockchain monitor reward” plus SOL transfers. 29 and 31 Jul: more SOL transfer batches. Collector/maintenance, not new 1/1 production.

  • 2026 · 3 signatures

    2 Jul: two AdminCancelBuynowSale on Exchange Art program EXBuYPNg… — leftover buy-now listings cancelled as EA prepared to shut (announced ~2 Jul, closed 1 Aug 2026). 20 Aug: RemoveWalletFromWhitelist on ARTd5DH…. Proof the mint wallet still had Exchange Art listings into 2026, a year after the 2024 window.

An abstract look back at the 2021 crypto year. Two naming layers sit in the mint wallet: cryptoCANDLE|NN-TICKER-climb/peak/decent, and sIgnALs|TICKER_weekNN / _monthNN / _year2021 (ADA, AVAX, BTC, DOGE, DOT, ETH, FTT, MATIC, SOL, WOOF, XTZ, plus BLOCK_outtaTime). Still mostly unsold on the mint.

Pure-math siblings to the market work. Attributes encode X subset (Ints, TwoPi, HalfPi), ranges such as 0 < X > 2π, and view-from-i plots of X / SinX / CosX. Palettes include windBlk, softice, temp.

GEN 0 · NASA Kepler photometry

The same plotting language applied to Kepler mission time series: time, electrons, centroid. Subsets labeled 0000KEPLER, 0008KEPLER, etc. Several pieces have left the mint wallet and appear listed around 2.35–2.4 SOL.

How the underground ran

Solana’s 1/1 underground from 2021–2023 was not a marketplace homepage. Drops were coordinated in artist and collector Discords, then blasted on X: Holaplex store links in 2021, Formfunction auctions through 2022, Exchange Art after Formfunction died. SHILLzine (@Pixeltoy / @ShillZine) was the weekly index. Twitter Spaces (and later Exchange Art office hours in Discord) were the oral culture.

Recurring adjacency: S0Ltoshi (SHILL 27 stuck-SOL Spaces), Pixeltoy, culturehacker / lowbrownative (DAM zine), PinkVelvetPony, BastyAdler, Saturday Solana rolls.

  • Twitter / X · Primary public surface

    @dat_a_bstract (not @DATAbstract) is the verified artist handle. FRAKT Sandbox used a quote-tweet to date the sIgnALs drop. SHILL issue 27 notes Databstract on a Spaces chat with Soltoshi about stuck auction SOL. A later hosted Space, “WHY not” (4 Apr 2024), still lists the Richardson turbulence bio and ~2k followers.

  • Discord · Coordination layer (mostly dark to the public web)

    Holaplex, Formfunction, Exchange Art, FRAKT, and SHILL all ran Discords. Collection mints, allowlists, and auction times were posted there first. Those logs are not archived on the open web; this brief infers Discord involvement from platform practice and from SHILL/Spaces cross-talk, not from leaked Discord exports.

  • Holaplex · 2021 storefront

    On-chain Set Store (13 Sep 2021) is a Holaplex/Metaplex auction-house fingerprint. Independent 1/1 artists lived here until the product stalled in 2022.

  • FRAKT Sandbox · Jan 2022 generative launchpad

    FRAKT (later Banx) used Sandbox to platform artists beyond its own generative collection. sIgnALs is DATAbstract’s documented Sandbox drop. Broken Maze by Ehsan Parizi is another 2022 Sandbox example.

  • Formfunction · Feb 2022 – Mar 2023

    Invite 1/1 house founded by @pencilflip. Closed 29 Mar 2023. SHILL 103 still lists DATAbstract among artists in that Formfunction → Exchange Art migration.

  • Exchange Art · Standing 1/1 market from 2022

    Artist-first 1/1s, editions, series; Discord office hours with curator Haley Karren; weekly Spaces. DATAbstracted (a related Matrica identity) holds an Exchange Art loot box — weak but consistent scene adjacency. Direct Exchange.art HTML is no longer fetchable in this environment.

  • SHILLzine · The underground’s magazine

    Launched Oct 2021 after @ghost_fried dared Pixeltoy to turn mock magazine covers into a real Solana-only zine. DATAbstract appears as both “dat_a_bstract” and “DATAbstract” across multiple issues — the same way other Holaplex 1/1 names were circulated.

    Pre-chain practice (outlier)

    LinkedIn dates a self-employed woodworking / data-manipulation practice from June 2020 — a year before this wallet exists. No Solana NFT infrastructure yet; this is method, not mint.

  2. 2021-09-04

    Mint wallet funded

    First signature on 3ANVZ…2tpDi is a system transfer. Nine days later the wallet becomes an artist store.

  3. 2021-09-13

    Holaplex store + first 1/1

    Metaplex auction program p1ex…fh98: Set Store, then Set Whitelisted Creator. Minutes later Ballet Twirl is minted and metadata is updated. This is the Holaplex-era 1/1 pattern: custom storefront, Twitter announcement, Discord collector chat.

  4. 2021-10 → 2021-12

    Peak minting

    2,127 signatures across Oct–Dec 2021. This is when cryptoCANDLE, HiPPAblock, and lightCURVE GEN 0 appear to have been written to chain. It coincides with SHILLzine’s first months (Oct 2021) and the Holaplex 1/1 boom, when PFP mints dominated the timeline and independent artists were mostly invisible without zine / Spaces coverage.

    SHILL Issue 24

    dat_a_bstract is indexed in Pixeltoy’s Solana NFT/DeFi/Twitter zine (pages 40–41). SHILL was the underground’s public bulletin: Holaplex listings, Twitter threads, Discord invites.

    Artist announces sIgnALs

    @dat_a_bstract tweet 1483193682283089926: venue @FraktSandbox, public date January 28th. No price or supply in the original post.

  7. 2022-01-23

    FRAKT Sandbox announces sIgnALs

    Tweet 1485161601279967232 quotes the artist: “Launching January 28th on Sandbox.” Historically @FraktSandbox; the same user ID now screens as @frakt_hq. Reprinted 24 Jan by The Solana Grapevine.

    sIgnALs sale + mint

    Official Sandbox bundle: 649 pieces, 0.62 SOL private and public (currency SOL, not FRKT). Private 16:00 UTC, public 22:00 UTC. Example mint 3EPyCxQv… at 22:36:01 UTC. 270 signatures from this wallet on 27–29 Jan.

    Formfunction opens; Holaplex fades

    Formfunction launches 3 Feb 2022 as the invite 1/1 market. Exchange Art is also live. Pixeltoy later writes that Holaplex “became insignificant overnight in 2022.” Wallet activity collapses after January (87 sigs in Feb, then single digits most months).

    SHILL + Saturday rolls

    dat_a_bstract keeps appearing in SHILL (issues 27, 72, 103, 107) and in @SATURDAYSOL artist rolls next to culturehacker, S0Ltoshi, PinkVelvetPony, Pixeltoy, BastyAdler — the same cluster that ran Discord servers and Twitter Spaces rather than Candy Machine launches.

  11. 2023-03-29

    Formfunction closes

    The other major 1/1 house shuts. Exchange Art becomes the remaining public square, with Discord office hours and weekly Twitter Spaces (Art Zone, Emerging Artist Spotlight, Artist Corner). DATAbstract’s mint wallet is nearly quiet: 49 signatures in all of 2023.

  12. 2024-01 → 2024-07

    cNFT collector year

    55 signatures. Most are Bubblegum compressed mints (DRiP-style UUID memos, MFI.EXPERT whitelist). Jun 25 hits Exchange Art’s whitelist program — the artist identity is still wired to EA. No new Holaplex-style 1/1 GEN series from this wallet.

    Hosts Twitter Space “WHY not”

    Speakers: PinkVelvetPony (1/1 Exchange Art / Saturday Solana peer) and chiral / Orange Cube. The X/Discord oral culture of the underground is still the coordination layer, even without Formfunction.
